Poetry Speaks Contest

Join us on June 16 at Sturges Park Bandshell prior to the Movie in the Park for a special Buffalo Days event!  Poetry Speaks is a summer Poetry Speaking Contest for youth in grades 7-12.  Participation is FREE!  Simply select 1-3 poems from the Minnesota Poetry Out Loud Anthology, accessible at this using the QR code below. 

The poems youth speakers select may be performed from memory or read from a script.

Youth contestants at this outdoor poetry speaking event will receive feedback from a featured poetry performer TBA and be beloved outdoor entertainment for guests attending Buffalo Days. Poetry Speaks is a program of Minnesota Poetry Out Loud, a National Oratorical Contest for youth in grades 7-12.  Youth interested in performing should register through Community Education by calling 763-682-8770.
